Stafford Sinfonia, one of the leading chamber orchestras in the West Midlands, are looking for new members to join their ranks.

Performing at least three concerts a year of baroque, classical, early romantic and light music to large and appreciative audiences in Stafford, the orchestra relishes performing well-known classics alongside lesser-known gems to a high standard and in their own distinctive style.

The orchestra are looking for the following permanent musicians:

  • Sub-principal Trumpet
  • 2 x Violin (first or second players)
  • 4 x Viola
  • 4 x Double bass

We also sometimes require extra woodwind, horns, trombones and percussion and would welcome applications to join our waiting list/deps list.

Players ought to be of a post-grade 7 standard, though no formal grades are required, and should have a significant amount of orchestral experience.

Led by Music Director, Jack Lovell-Huckle and leader, Simon Coombs, the orchestra rehearse on a Monday evening at Tillington Manor Primary School, Stafford. With 9-10 rehearsals per concert the orchestra is looking for dedicated, passionate and friendly musicians to expand an already healthy sized chamber orchestra as they progress in to a new and exciting chapter.
